Well yes, yes I should be. Writing. Or rather, I should be typing up that which I have already written so I can shove it at my best friend and get him to tell me what’s wrong with it.
And then characters need to tell me what on earth is going on, why exactly a certain guy isn’t supposed to be using magic, and also where in the world they’re going.

I’d really like to know so I can have so idea of where things are going and maybe get a better/more accurate outline in place.
Also, please to be not having sad things happen for a bit, yeah? I’ve enough of that in my head; I’d kinda like this to be a bit less … tear producing?

I have a cold.
I don’t remember ever having a cold before.
I’m just going to go take meds, curl up in bed, and hope I can stop sneezing/sniffling long enough to sleep.
Which I say only because Canada was COLD and it rained 90% of the time I was there, which only made it colder. But I came prepared with my winter coat and my scarf (scaaaaaaaaaaaarf = <3), so it was all good.
What bit of Toronto I saw was nice—we were stuck in meetings or in 3+ hours long dinners most of the time, unfortunately, so I didn’t get to explore as much as I would’ve liked to. There is a thing called PATH that’s pretty much kilometers and kilometers of underground passages and stuff, complete with shops and restaurants, right underneath the city, and I really wanted someone to give me a map and let me wander/attempt to find a bookstore (because this is what Nini does when visiting a foreign place—find a bookstore and books to purchase!).
Dinner Tuesday night was buffet-style with various kinds of food (I had spicy pasta and ridiculously rich chocolate cake). While we ate, we got to enjoy the view from the CN Tower, which was pretty awesome and also HOLY WOAH THIS IS HIGH.
And no, I did not go stand on the glass floor. YOU COULDN’T MAKE ME.
Dinner Wednesday night was in a restaurant a couple blocks from the hotel. (I felt vaguely/weirdly Sherlock-ish because I was wearing suit pants, a suit-ish jacket, and a scarf, though I did not have a collared-button-down shirt or an awesome long coat.) I had a salad that consisted of onions, ham, onions, cheddar cheese, onions, finely sliced apples, and onions (aside from the onions, this was pretty much my kind of salad); grilled chicken and french fries; a few bites of someone else’s chocolate cheesecake they were finished with (it was spiked, too—I could taste the alcohol!) and vanilla gelato (which was SO YUMMY).
I ate way too much bread—except there’s no such thing as eating too much bread!—and on the planes, they actually had SPECULOOS. HOLY WOAH YAY!
Got home just before 3 p.m. yesterday, threw in a load of laundry, had noms, checked stuff on the computer, and then made the mistake of laying down til Mom got home.
I woke up enough to answer her when she knocked on my door and asked if I wanted food. I then fell asleep only to wake up at 11:30 p.m.—I’d slept for roughly five hours. Stayed awake long enough to think “oops,” “well I’m still tired and not really hungry,” got up and shut my laptop down, got back into bed, and slept til 10:30 this morning.
… I think I caught up on sleep. |D;;
